Traditional Romanian plate with brown design and a lovely roaster, decoration for the walls or shelves, made by hand in clay and painted in Horezu, Romania. It is made by a local artisan from clay and natural pigments using traditional techniques. Can be used both for serving and for decorative purpose.The main symbols used in the ornamentation of Horezu pottery are inspired by the surrounding flora and fauna: the rooster, the tree, the snake, the snowdrops, the leaf, the sun, the star, the spike, the double spiral, the tree of life or the peacock’s tail.In 2012, the representatives of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO decided that Horezu pottery meets the qualities to be included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
